Continuing a long-standing partnership with TradeCoast Central and Bootooloo Property, McNab delivered a new 7,000m² distribution facility for leading Australian fashion retailer Universal Store (represented by TMX) at Eagle Farm.
Strategically located close to Brisbane Airport and the Gateway Arterial, the facility provides Universal Store with a purpose-built environment to support its growing distribution network across Queensland and Australia. The facility incorporates logistics and inventory warehousing, buying showrooms, a photographic studio and two levels of offices, breakout spaces and amenities, with a substantial fitout designed to reflect the Universal Store brand and put its customers at the heart of the workplace.
Universal Store engaged interstate architect Meta 5 to develop the initial fitout concept and establish an internal Environmentally Sustainable Development (ESD) brief. Integrating these requirements into a project where the base building was already designed and construction was underway called for an innovative approach. In response to the ESD brief, McNab proposed the use of low-carbon concrete and worked closely with Holcim to explore what could be achieved.
