Capabilities
McNab trades & labour
More people. More capability. Greater certainty on site.
Approach
McNab Trades & Labour provides skilled, reliable people to support projects when and where they are needed. By building our own workforce capability and supplementing industry capacity, we help reduce labour constraints, maintain programme and give project teams greater control over delivery.

Managing labour risk
Labour availability is one of the biggest constraints facing the construction industry. McNab Trades & Labour gives us another way to manage that risk. By directly employing skilled trades and building a broader labour capability, we can supplement project teams, respond to changing site requirements and reduce reliance on increasingly constrained external resources. It gives our projects more flexibility, more control and another layer of certainty when programmes are under pressure.
Trades & labour pillars
Our trades and labour teams are employed specifically to work in active construction environments. They understand the standards expected on McNab projects and can be deployed across a range of activities to support project teams where additional capability is required.
The future of construction depends on attracting talent from a much broader pool. We are actively creating more pathways for women into trades and construction, while building a workplace where people from different backgrounds can develop long-term careers and succeed.
We invest in apprentices, emerging tradespeople and long-term workforce development so capability grows with the business. The objective is bigger than filling today’s roles — it is creating a stronger pipeline of skilled people who can support McNab and the broader industry for years to come.
When labour is constrained, having the right people available at the right time can be the difference between chasing programme and staying ahead of it.
"Our Trades & Labour team is building certainty, quality and trust into every project. We're able to control the quality, safety and ensure that our knowledge and how we build continues to get passed on to the next generation of builders."
