Project Summary
The Sunshine Coast Airport Terminal Expansion Project (TXP) will significantly increase terminal capacity through the staged refurbishment of the existing terminal and construction of new terminal infrastructure.
The project includes additional departure gates, expanded check-in and security facilities and enhanced passenger amenities to support the airport's continued growth.
Delivering these works within a live operational airport demands a carefully planned and highly coordinated approach. Through detailed staging, stakeholder engagement and construction sequencing, McNab is safely integrating new infrastructure into the existing terminal while maintaining uninterrupted airport operations and providing a seamless experience for passengers, airlines and airport stakeholders.
Digital engineering, including BIM and detailed site coordination, supported the efficient integration of new and existing structures, reducing risk and ensuring buildability. The design and construction approach prioritised operational efficiency, streamlined passenger flow and improved amenity outcomes.
