McNab have delivered an extension to the existing Darwalla Hatchery, which contains 4,400m2 of processing facilities including an office and on site accommodation.
The facility has been designed to accommodate the production of 1.8 million chickens each week. It features concrete flooring with a strategically designed slope to ensure efficient drainage, along with a multi-level steel structure to effectively filter out contaminated air.
Furthermore, the project incorporates advanced water treatment techniques to enable the recycling of water for irrigation purposes. Working adjacent to existing facilities, McNab have ensured that all material is built to withstand the corrosive chemicals used to maintain the facilities work, health and safety standards.
From the client:
"From the very beginning, the collaboration was marked by outstanding communication, immense cooperation, and a shared commitment in making the Allora Hatchery project a success. One of the most impressive aspects of this project was the seamless coordination that occurred between all parties involved. Whether it was the builders on the ground, the architects, or the project manager orchestrating the entire process, the way that everyone worked together was something that doesn’t often happen.
Understanding timelines and the complexity of the build were critical components of the project’s success. The ability to adhere to the project schedule while handling the intricacies of the construction process was excellent. Everyone demonstrated a clear understanding of the challenges we faced and addressed them with skill and efficiency.
The end result is a building that exceeds expectation and I think everyone can be proud of the result. The quality of workmanship and attention to detail is evident, and it stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment to this project."
