Project Summary
The Port of Brisbane engaged McNab to design and construct a specialised logistics and distribution facility for their tenant Arrow.
The 8,937m2 warehouse with dado panel and colourbond wall cladding is supported by a small office and 12 metre super awning. Fleet logistics are supported by the provision of a wash bay, weighbridge and 26,500m2 hardstand. The post tensioned hardstand slab is 290mm thick designed for a 110 point load, and is fitted with multiple container refrigeration charging points.
Our design and consultant team understand the Port of Brisbane geotechnical uniqueness due to being reclaimed land. The structural design has included extensive ground improvement works to firm the ground to alleviate these issues, which included the over 4000m2 of CFC piers for the warehouse slab.
We were proud to trial and deliver the first Eco-Terra (Hanson's green concrete) burnished fibre reinforced slab for the Port of Brisbane within the warehouse which has produced outstanding results.
